The Ford mustang has become one of the most popular collector cars of all time. The 1964 ½ -1966 early Mustangs have become very desirable, pricey and sought after by collectors. Ford sold all the Mustangs it could produce. This popularity remains in place as a collectible vehicle today.
This 1965 Mustang Convertible, rare model 76B , is a good, solid and restored example that is equipped with a 289 cu.in. V8 engine and a 3 speed “Cruise-o-Matic” transmission. The body is extremely sound and free of any corrosion. This car went through a major cosmetic and mechanical restoration about 15 years ago. This restoration included the body that was meticulously prepared and painted with a Deltron base coat/clear coat deep finish, matching the original Ford “Rangoon Red”, detailed undercarriage and engine bay, brakes which included new steel brake lines, rear end ratio was changed from the original 2.8 to a 3.0:1 to accommodate increased horsepower, rebuilt transmission and engine that was torn down, bead blasted, honed and completely rebuilt. This included the heads which were fitted with stainless steel valve inserts for unleaded gas. The single exhaust was replaced with dual exhaust system.
