The C2 Corvette is considered by many ‘Vette aficionados to have the purest and cleanest design of the entire series. The ’67 model, last year for the C2, shows all of the benefits and things learned through five years of production. In their test of the new-for-1967 Corvette, Road & Track wrote, “The Sting Ray … finally looks the way we thought it should in the first place.” Personally, every time we at ARI look at a C2, we think R&T got it right.
This 67 Goodwood green Sting Ray is a numbers matching example that was smartly optioned when new and subsequently has undergone a restoration that focused on originality and mechanical excellence. The result is a Corvette that will draw attention and admiration at your local cars & coffee or possibly a trophy at a serious Marque event. More important, thanks to the quality of the restoration and the evolutionary refinements of all fifth-year C2s; this is an entertaining and exciting driver’s car. Here are some of the things we think make this one of the best C2s available today.
Up front is the popular 327ci V8 rated at 300hp –It’s mated to a 4-speed transmission. These options were all ordered when new, installed at the factory and present in our car.
While the 4-speed transmission and Positraction were popular options, This car also has two relatively rare but very desirable factory-installed selections –Power Steering and power brakes. Of course, the bodywork, fit and finish are excellent. We think this combination, along with the white drop top, makes this a comfortable and enjoyable cruiser.
We have driven this car and think it delivers everything a Corvette fan looks for - Style, exciting driving dynamics and the potential for investment appreciation. Call us to discuss and possibly, schedule a memorable test drive. We’ll tune the U69 AM/FM radio to an oldies station and smile.
