The car being offered here has completed just 199 miles since a total and complete professional refurbishment, including the following which is a summary of work done, not in order of any significance:
Body removed from chassis, body media blasted inside and out.
26R fenders grafted onto body shell.
All body panels given to body shop for re-gel coating prior to prep and paint.
New 26R chassis in bare metal was powder coated in race-car dark grey.
Complete engine overhaul by marquee specialist, head gas flowed and ported, big valves and performance cams fitted. Block bored oversize and long throw crank fitted. New pistons, rods, bearings installed.
Engine balanced and dynoed.
Gearbox stripped and new synchros , bearings and seals fitted.
Engine and gearbox installed in new chassis with competition mounts.
New big bore tubular header and collector installed, ceramic coated then matte black.
Drive shaft stripped, rebuilt with new bearings and seals. Finally re-balanced.
Differential re-built , new bearings and seals, TranX limited slip gears fitted.
Drive –line outer hubs/flanges and yokes, original steel 26R all nickel plated.
Original Elan rear calipers totally stripped, rebuilt, polished and plated.
Front end fitted with new “quick ratio” rack, new steering top swivels and trunions.
New 26 front brake conversion fitted, large diameter machined GT6 rotors.
New 26R bolt on wheels with Toyo tires fitted front and rear.
New clutch and two stage brake master cylinders installed. All Aeroquip lines.
Both fuel line from trunk and battery cable protected inside right lower rocker panel.
New Lucas ignition system supplied by Cosworth including a new distributor.
High torque gear reduction starter fitted along with lightweight alternator.
Quartz headlamps with plexi-glass headlamp covers.
New burled walnut dashboard with glovebox.
All Instruments refurbished by factory agent.
Original wiring harness completely checked and all connectors/extra wires before harness re-installed.
Side window frames dismantled and re-chromed.
Seat frames stripped and media blasted. New seat padding and black leather. All new fasteners fitted when interior was being put back together, new s/s seat runners.
All new body rubber gasket seals.
New convertible top.

This car is truly way better than when it left the Lotus factory in terms of quality and its performance is way beyond what a normal Elan can do in both performance and handling. Now offered for a fraction of what it would cost to re-create with only 199 miles since project completion!
