This Lotus Europa was stripped down to the nut and bolts. The body shell and panels were media blasted down to gel coat. The body shell was prepared then painted its original factory color. The chassis and all metal components were media blasted then powder coated. The interior of car was completely re upholstered. Seats , door panels, center consul and map pocket were trimmed in correct oatmeal colored fabric obtained from UK. The headlining was sourced from UK also. Non original colored carpet of a higher quality than original was used for cockpit and both front and rear trunks (boots). The dash top (crash pad) was recovered in black leather.
The engine was sent to Marcovicci Engineering of Long Island NY ,for complete and proper performance rebuild to almost 170hp,utilizing new custom made piston, new carbs and all the parts needed to see the 170hp (build and Dino sheets can be provided) the engine is over 1700 cc with a very useful flat torque curve.
The transmission shifts beautifully no crunching or whining. The case was cleaned and is spotless. From shift lever back to tranny input shaft the linkage was completely rebuilt. New bushes and cross pin at shift lever, new central U/J with new mounting pivot bushes and spherical rod end joint. A new universal joint was fitted to the very back shift rail joint. A unique reverse lockout was fitted at the shift lever, more reliable and positive than factory.
The car is fitted with custom parts all around starting with the exhaust system, big bore stainless steel tubular 4 into 2 into 1. Lotus 26R magnesium wheels 6x13 fitted with Federal 185x13 radial types up front and 205x13 at the rear. The wheels are secured with special two piece wheel nuts.
