The 2002 Tii was created from the desire of two prominent executives from BMW to put a 2 liter engine in their 1600 series cars. At the same time, American importer Max Hoffman was asking BMW for a sporting version of the 02 series that could be sold in the United States. What eventually happened was the birth of the 130hp 2002 Tii. This was a car that was equipped with a fuel injected 2 liter engine. The 2002 Tii has become a welcome addition at race venues all over the United States and Europe.
