Fast fun in the SUN whenever you could find just enough to keep your tires sticky.
This was a BIG event for the SVRA and the whole vintage racing community. Record entries, superb fields and a good time for drivers, techs and spectators alike. Weather...no, not whether to go or whether not to go BUT… weather!!! as in clouds of anger and slippery conditions. Glen history relives as they often seem to play a hand in weekend outcomes in NY wine country come early fall. 2013 proved on point as the skies did exactly that once again. On balance however the sun broke through often enough for some good racing with the SVRA doing their usual first rate job keeping all on track…well sorted with more than enough after racing social interaction and FUN!
VRS was there in force. We’ve not missed a fall SVRA Glen event for years so why start now? Under the VRS tent, perfected and serviced by VRS wrenches and very much with us to help celebrate the good times on pace on track and shiny side up always we found…
When all was said and done it was Sunday, rain was falling now and again but spirits were high under the tent in the VRS camp. All had finished in fine fun form no ruins, only a light tap and no big errors of consequence. Weekends like this are remembered and savored for days and months & perhaps years to come. Four full days of racing in big competitive fields on one of America’s best circuits is food for the soul and that all important physical detail…our communal lead foot.
