RACES REALLY START BEFORE FLAGS DROP… Here’s where we start OUR SVRA Circuit of the Americas tale. Dave & his trusty Triumph had a great run at the 9/20-23/18 SVRA, Virginia International Heacock Classic Gold Cup event; on pole then winning his race… But back at the shop we found some engine worries!! #2 piston in failure mode. Only 1 more event to go this season, the spare was apart; we did not have that option. Out came the engine and as our late October load up day loomed engine builder Jim Coleman had all stops out to get Dave’s engine back up to speed. Far right, job done car prepped and truck loaded!
Below: Dave’s not headed for the Paddock Club!! Dave Spitfire #88 are leaving the grid for the start of his group 3 & 4 national championship race. He left group 3 behind chasing that Group 4 Devin to the finish line. Result photos right…”Dave, you’ve won” then onto the podium for official presentation and another SVRA Gold helmet finish. Well Done Dave!!
DAVE DID it AGAIN: On the pole than on to win 3EP finishing 2nd overall and another gold helmet Vintage National Championship for Dave and the VRS Crew at SVRA, COTA 2018 .. Good Job!!!
Dave’s well earned badge of success – a gold helmet on the door for pushing those hard working 1300 Fire Spitting CC’s to their limit!!
