Oh, if cars could talk, what an amazing story this gorgeous Porsche 911L would tell. It was purchased new in 1968 by world famous Hollywood music luminary Paul Rothchild, A & M Records producer of the biggest names in the business at the time, including The Doors, Janis Joplin and Joni Mitchell… to name just a few. One year after he bought the car, he gifted it to good friend and music colleague David Anderele, who produced records for the Beach Boys and many other music stars. Anderle and Rothchild would both use the car over the next 25 years. (Rothchild is directly quoted as saying that he and Janis Joplin, her in her wildly painted 356 Cabriolet, would race up and down Mullholand Drive regularly! See photo of Joplin and Anderle below) In 1995 the car was gifted, yet again, to Anderle’s music associate Mr. Jeff Suhy who would cherish it for the next 20 years, until he sold it to the current east coast owner in 2016. Very early in its life the color was changed from dark green to factory gold metallic. Two years ago the current owner commissioned a concours level repaint bringing the car back to its original Metallic Dark Green (#62109).
