Automotive Restorations, Inc. is a well established, well respected restoration shop that has built our reputation on providing our clients with nothing but the best, but even as a staple in the New England automotive community we are always growing! In 1978, this shop was nothing more than a small garage with a few lifts and and a small group of individuals passionate about classic cars who saw an opportunity to work in a field that they loved. In the last 40 years we’ve grown and expanded to the massive facility and staff of over 30 individuals that you see today, but our mindset has not changed.

As our shop continues to grow, we are looking for motivated, highly skilled, intelligent restoration technicians and body work experts to join our team. We service and restore classic cars from every era, from weekend warriors to concourse winners. This job involves skilled mechanical work on classic automobiles, including but not limited to the marques of Mercedes, Jaguar, Ferrari, Porsche, Chevy, Ford and Chrysler. The ideal candidate for this position will be a well-organized, responsible individual who enjoys learning new tasks and takes instruction well. Regardless of experience level, this is a specialized position to which not all of your skills will transfer, a degree of humility is essential.

Responsibilities Include, but are not limited to:

  • Initial evaluation and diagnosis to assist in generating project plans

  • Taking direction from managers and coworkers alike

  • Ability to manage projects based on outline given and inform management of any issues that arise

  • Respect for the historical, mechanical and cosmetic integrity of clients’ vehicles

  • Keeping a detailed, comprehensive record of all tasks performed, using internal codes and terminology

  • Assisting parts department in disassembling, assembling, cleaning and preparing items for service and use

  • Representing our establishment with professionalism at all times

  • Capability of performing tasks with precision, accuracy and good judgement to meet the needs of clients


  • Three or more years of professional experience as an automotive technician

  • A sound theoretical understanding of the operation of engines, manual and automatic transmissions, differential gearing, electrical, suspension and brake systems.

  • Punctuality and dependability

  • Strong verbal and written skills

  • Ability to meet deadlines

  • Frequent light lifting, some heavy lifting, regular use of tools, occasional manual labor in warehouse environment

  • Take pleasure in learning: this position will pose challenges and opportunities daily, the ability to think quickly and learn by doing is a must

  • Maintain a clean and organized work area
