Only 37 Alfa Romeo Giulietta Veloce Spiders were built in 1957, after 16 examples had been built in 1956, the first year of production. It is believed that only half of these cars survive today, making this a rare and special car indeed. According to the factory Certificate Of Origin, chassis number 2264 is a fully numbers matching car and is still in its original colors. It was built on September 30th 1957 and sold on December 17th of that year in New York, likely by the legendary sports car dealer Max Hoffman. The documentation tells us that the car was put into storage in 1982 and was discovered by an astute dealer in 2012. The car was then sold to a Pennsylvania collector who undertook a concours level restoration to the tune of nearly $200,000. There are detailed receipts and photos documenting this beautiful and fully correct restoration. The mileage at the time of restoration was original at 60,558. Since restoration was completed the car has been driven just over 1000 miles. As a testament to the mechanical integrity of the car, it was invited to the prestigious 2025 Greenwich Concours d’Elegance, and the current owner drove the car from his home in Lyme, Connecticut to Greenwich and back, a round trip of just under 200 miles. The car performed flawlessly. The Veloce option in these lovely Giuliettas really sets them apart as it’s a boost in horsepower over the standard car from 65 to 90 horsepower. This is achieved with twin Weber carburetors and hotter camshafts, resulting in a higher compression ratio and thus a much better performing car. What makes this car particularly special is that it is eligible for the Mille Mille being a 1957 model. Of note, the car has already been accepted in the 2026 California Mille, so the next owner has plenty of exciting motoring ahead of him (or her!) if desired. The car comes with all of the aforementioned documentation, an original Veloce tool kit, jack and spare, the factory Certificate of Origin, a correct black soft top and a full zip tonneau in matching fabric. This is a spectacular car in every way, ready today to take home Concours prizes or to take part in events like The California Mille… or both!
